  1. Amelie says:

Thanks Jonathan for this inspiring video. What you say is so simple but so true (and often forgotten, especially when we trick ourselves on what’s really good for us). Thanks again !

  2. Joe Crosbie says:

I must be truthful towards you Jonathan, I was playing this video on my PC whilst I was making a cup of coffee and as soon as you started talking about discipline I ran back to watch in detail.

I suffer badly with self discipline, I can easily admit to being a “SUCKY Performer”

I would love to be involved, anything to help become a more disciplined individual.

    Have a great day!
    Joe Crosbie

  3. Being a sucky perfomer is a main problem for most of us and for that reason so many people fail on the network marketing industry or on the internet marketing niche. You’re so right Jonathan that if we want to achieve great things, we must stop with being sucky. Thanks for reminding this :-)

  4. Kevin Rape says:

Excellent post JB! I have also learned this year that personal development and discipline highly effect performance. Both High performance time and recharging time is essential. Athletes do it, and so should everyone else.

  5. Sanna says:

    Hi Jonathan,

Last night I made some kind of arrangement to set up my computer in my bed, so be able to listen and enjoy your video before going to sleep. Such a great day to end the day.
You are really telling it like it is. It almost hurts.

Keep it up. We need to hear those things. It´s terribly easy to “imagine” that you´re doing the work that it takes.

Personally, I´m caught in the middle somewhere, since I don´t want to make a huge career (since I´m 60 and want to slow down) but still create a good income for myself and make sure I can enjoy a good retirement.

I want to be successful but I´m not aiming for the internet to take over my life.

I´m asking myself what success is? And how I can settle for a degree of “success” that I´m happy with and that will give me what I want?

Well, I truly enjoy your energy and your straight forwardness!! It takes courage, and I admire that!

    Best from Sweden,
    Sanna

  6. Wow Jonathan!

That was surely a needed dose of reality. If you want to know why 97% of network marketers fail, then watch your video. To succeed in any business, It takes grit, drive, and the willing to push on when your mind and emotions are in turmoil. The majority of people like being comfortable way too much in order to be successful. That is essentially the problem with America as a whole. We would rather blame the government for our problems rather than gutting it out in doing what’s necessary; that is getting ourselves in gear to accomplish something worth talking about.

  7. Harmoney says:

    Your message hit home…~Peace~

  8. Thanks for your honesty, Jonathan. Particularly in that last part about success being difficult, and requiring a tremendous amount of discipline. I also found your points on the contrast between productivity and rejuvenation to be very interesting. It made me think about concentration versus meditation, which seem to often get confused.

  9. Dmitry Boruk says:

    “Thank you” Jonathan…………… i’m happy without iPad…..

  10. Chris Flynn says:

Great Video! I actually caught myself doing those bad habits man, and I thought to myself, “dude, if I want to become successful like JBudd, I got to live, eat, and breath my business.” :D

  11. Matt Greener says:

    Hi Jonathan,

    Thanks for your sincerity!

Totally true about avoiding growth, avoiding the “hard things”, sometimes we already know what we need to do to get to the next level and we just keep putting it off. That might just be the ultimate frustration.

Another point is that while new ideas and creation are good, we can also get into the trap of always creating new things. Sometimes we need to put a hold on the new projects and finish projects that we’ve already started as there is always room for improvement and we can ask ourselves for example:

Does this activity build and increase traffic?
Are my systems optimized to receive the maximum benefit from that traffic?
Am I currently doing all that I can with my current traffic, subscribers and buyers?

In many cases we’ll find that we’re already half way into the gold mine and just have to keep on going on a bit harder rather than starting over.

  12. George Park says:

    Great advice thanks Jonathan.
We are all guilty of working on our business, instead of in our business.

  13. christine says:

This is AMAZING….I’m so glad I found your site. I’ve been going through and watching your videos. Was inspired by the interview you gave over at Network Marketing Pro. x

  15. Rick Katz says:

That is real talk Jonathan. thanks for kicking my butt man!

  16. Thank You.Im stuck on 3rd base.Once I obtain my new printer I truely believe I be coming home to a new way of life .Thanks again.

  17. Egor says:

You blew my mind again, buddy. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

The matter of fact for me is, the more discipline, positive rituals and mechanical daily repetition of high leverage activities I impose on myself, the happier I feel.

I have cheat sheets and check lists of what I do for almost every minute of the day. When I wake up. What I do right after I got out of bed. How I wash my face. When and how exactly I meditate. When I go to the gym. What and when I eat. What I work on first thing in the morning. When I run daily team meetings. How do I follow up with customers and prospects. So on, so forth.

What TV? What movies? What games? You gotta be kidding :)

You might think it’s a nightmarish life but the more I do it, the happier I feel and the more good stuff happens to me.

I have a mantra that I am a warrior-monk and my life is a life of discipline (mental, emotional, physical and spiritual), devotion (to my vision) and sacrifice (of the easy ways you mentioned).

This shit works, my friend. It truly does.

  18. Bill Solano says:

    J Budd,

This make so much sense you need to focus on the money making activities, otherwise you’re just spending time loosing money. I like your idea of rejuvenating life or recharging batteries. We need to figure out how to get rid of those time wasting activities.

    Thanks for keeping us real.

    Bill

  19. Dimple says:

Thanks JB! This is a week when I need to be productive beyond belief! It’s also a week where people will be trying to connect with me. This message couldn’t have come at a better time! This is only one of two videos I’m taking a break to watch! lol As always, sending you great love!

  26. Awesome video.

Anything worth accomplishing has obstacles to be overcome, because if it was easy everyone would do it and the value would be lost.

  27. Great advice Jonathan, we have all been guilty of these low performer rules at some time or another but with this advice we can’t go wrong. Thanks !!

  28. Naola says:

Hello Jonathan, what you stated was very informative, especially regarding creating in order to create wealth. My question is how do you create the modules that carry your lessons. Your lessons are very professional and well done, are these tools that you have created for yourself? I appreciate your lessons they are helpful and inspiring. Thank you, :) Naola

  29. Damayanthi says:

Thanks for your great post Jonathan. Great reminder to observe what you are doing, it is so easy to deviate & start doing the easy stuff.

It is a form of procrastination

  30. kurt says:

Just watched the video and it helped me identify that I need to change my brain to think more like you and my take away was my work ethic needs improvement and changing my brain to focus on the hard stuff first and stop allowing myself the easy stuff. Jonathan can you make more videos on what you been up to the last 6 months on apps?

Powerful beyond measure…totally opposite of what we are taught and drawn to or massaged with daily. I have sucked big time and am in a hole because I have been doing exactly what you have described. I even have your program which I have under utilized. Today I make a new commitment to my success and the giving of myself to the world

  35. Jay Carter says:

You done it again JB, another excellent video.

I waste a lot of time at the moment, that needs to stop.
    Thanks for reminding me.

In life nowadays there’s so many distractions that focusing in itself can be hard work, but necessary for success in business, life and your relationships.

    Have nice “productive” day everyone.

  36. I love you, Jonathan! You are such an inspiration to me. You lift me up and keep me on track and also make me laugh. So insightful… Work ethic, peak performance, staying focused on money-making activities, but also taking time to rejuvenate and recharge… Excellent reminders. Thank you for all you do. (^L^)

  37. Elaine Twiss says:

Well said and I have taken the message to heart. Thank you.

  38. Raena Lynn says:

    Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for another inspiring video! Take time for rejuvenation because in the long run, it will help you make money if you are putting in 100%. Everything begins with thought. I’m sure your surgery will result in great comfort when it is all over.

    Raena Lynn

  39. Marilyn says:

    the video will not play….

  40. Very Powerful Video, J. Budd!!

I definitely had an “AHA MOMENT” on this one. When working be only doing the things that are Massively Productive and when I’m not working be only doing th things that are ReCharging me!

That is so powerful because a lot of times we can definitely Trick ourselves and mistake being Busy with Being Productive! Thanks for sharing!

    To Your Infinite Success,
    Marquel Russell

  41. Maarten says:

    Just what I needed!
Thanks for the wake-up call JB
    Peace,

Good luck with you new house :)

  42. Steve Hughes says:

Complacancy is the silent killer that gets so many people. We love to look around at others and let them be our standard. If we want to be above average we must develop that awesome mental state mentioned in the video,
    Awesome video!
    Thanks,
    steve

  43. Chris Hughes says:

High performance is something that I’ve been learning quite a bit about as well. Brendon Burchard’s book The Charge has helped quite a bit with learning how to get “in the zone” more.

However, you are absolutely right with choosing to live your life and do things 100% productively while you are “working”, and focus on activities that are rejuvenating when you are not working.

I’ve got to focus more time on the rejuvenating activities and do more things that get me re-inspired.

    Great video man,
    Chris

  44. Cindy Tring says:

Great video and lots of help for people starting up. Good job in letting awareness happen with value of time and what it is creating. Thanks

  45. OMG This was what I needed :D Totally motivated me. I have been kinda a sucky performer lately and giving myself the excuse that it’s summer it’s okay to chill out and sit a little bit longer on Facebook, play a video game etc. But god I want results and I want them big and I wont get them by playing games that are just a pure distraction.

    Thanks for the video :D

  46. Mary Lou White says:

Thanks for the stand you are in the world. I appreciate your willingness to share your insights and to provide us with what “works”.I also thank you for your commitment to Pachamama!

  47. Saqib Khan says:

Hey JB I hope you are recovering well bro :)

    Awesome background man.

Being a low performer is like going in and doing something half-hearted. I think many people do this (as you said) and of course, doing something with half the heart, half the effort and half the committment will NOT get you the FULL level of results you are after. Your work ethic makes all the difference in getting average results and extraordinary results. Also, it comes down to analysing and seeing which activities are actually helping in making money.

Also, that is so true what you said about avoiding the hard and going to the easy. I have experienced in the past and it isn’t a good thing lol.

Thanks for the rooftop talk bro! ;)

    Saqib Khan

  48. Tom Vang says:

Great advice. However, this is not something new to a lot of people…I think most people know they have to work hard and have to get the necessary things done! It’s whether they have the true will power to go and do it.

This is definitely a good reminder for everyone because we all fall short sometimes and we want the easy route.

  49. Paul says:

    Great stuff Budd!!!!!! :)

  50. Paweł Nowak says:

    Success starts in our head!
    Cheers ;)
